I find myself often all smiles while editing a wedding. Which sounds odd, I know because let’s face it editing can get suuuuper boring. But not when the wedding that you’re working on was one that just sits in your heart and brings a smile to your face. Jillian & Tom’s was just that. From the moment I booked them, to their engagement shoot at the DIA to their windy, rainy with 50mph gusts wedding day … I have loved every single moment working with them & their families. These two are some of the sweetest clients I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, and the fact that they are well traveled, smart & witty is just icing on the cake for me.
Hence, the smiling while editing.
Their wedding day started out like any other wedding day in June. Cold, rainy & winds that rivaled Chicago on a windy day.
Wait. In June? Yes June, people.
So what does one (or two photographers if you include my assistant Brandon) do on a wedding day like this? We roll with it, of course! And that’s exactly what Tom & Jilian did as well. They didn’t even flinch when we woke up to rain & hit the 50 yard line of the Big House. And that’s one of the many things that made their wedding day one of my favorites of 2015. They instead filled their day with sweet moments, family & friends from around the globe. Their reception was a nod to the literary lovers in them with vintage typewriters and sweets from none other than Zingerman’s Bakehouse in Ann Arbor. It was an amazing day in all. Here’s a peek.

An ENORMOUS thank you to this guy. Brandon, my main guy, my right hand guy, my assistant who shot the majority of my weddings with me last year. I am so incredibly thankful for his passion, creativity & hard work!
