When one door closes, another one opens. And nothing could be more true. If I had to pour a little bit of my heart into each and every post, this would surely be the one. And I can honestly say that it’s clients like Jake & Jeri that remind me how much I love what I do. From our very first shoot almost 6 years ago, they’ve been so good to me, sending countless clients my way over the years. I’ve loved every minute of watching their adventures & becoming new parents. I was there for their beautiful wedding up in Traverse City 5 years ago and I felt pretty excited to be able to capture yet another beginning for them as they close this chapter of their lives. I saw them last summer up at Torch Lake and we talked about dreams for the future. And now one of theirs is coming to fruition as Jake takes on a new position as a Fire Fighter up in Traverse City.
I know first hand how bittersweet change can be and how it really makes you appreciate where you’ve been. As a photographer, I love capturing the essence of those chapters of people’s lives … especially these guys. We got together this past Friday night before they celebrated their little girl Ruby’s first birthday. What a little beauty she is and I can see so much of both of them in her. Here’s a peek.
