A Grand Rapids Museum Wedding
The feeling is so bittersweet to post the last wedding of 2016. But let me tell you, 2016 was an amazing year. Not only for beautiful weddings in some pretty great locations, but moreso because of the people. People that had stories to tell. Stories that included love, history, and even a little bit of magic. More than just falling in love. Starting new & incredible adventures together. And I was the lucky one to document part of that journey. Like Clair & Matt, who had a Grand Rapids Museum wedding this past November. Claire came to me through a very talented photographer & friend of mine Carrie who was not only a bridesmaid & best friend, but also the beautiful mama to those sweet ring bearers. I traveled out for the weekend with one of my favs, Meg Darket and together we scouted locations, and just had the best time with Claire, Matt & their wedding party in Grand Rapids.
Their reception was at one of the most unique venues I’ve shot to date, the Grand Rapids Public Museum. What an incredible setting for their friends & family! It was complete with a carousel & the most amazing installation above of a killer whale. I had honestly never been there before, so when I walked in to see it decorated for their reception, needless to say I was completely blown away.
These two are as sweet as they come, their love is simple & true. I knew this at their Gaslight Village Engagement in East Grand Rapids last spring. But to see them together again on their wedding day, and bring it all together with vows & celebration was truly a sight to see. I feel so lucky that Carrie sent them my way, and they’ve been a dream to work with. Ok, enough blabbering from me. Here’s a peek at Claire & Matt’s Grand Rapids Museum Wedding.
