I will never forget the first time I met Megan. It was at Lena for a consult, and in those first few moments I knew she was not only in love with Tom, but had the sweetest of hearts. I was just a few months out from losing my husband and she cried when I told her my story. I know right then that I had to be her wedding photographer, and that it’s clients like her who accept me without judgment while giving me space to grow are clients that I want to work for. And that is how it has been from their love shoot to their wedding day.
Megan & Tom were married at a beautiful church just around the corner from where I finished high school, and wrapped up their reception at Fox Hills. It was touch and go for a good part of the day as we dodged raindrops in Downtown Northville before buckets & buckets (and buckets) of rain fell late into the night. Megan is one of those brides who literally glows and even more so when she looks across the room and catches the eye of her love, Tom and anyone who is important in her life. And Tom, what can I say. As handsome as they come, polite & kind and madly involve with his bride.
Their wedding day was complete with INCREDIBLE florals from Megan’s dear friend Tricia of Violet Floral Design who came all the way from Nashville for her big day. I’ll never forget pulling up to Megan & Tom’s home and seeing U-Haul with the most gorgeous flowers literally falling out of it. I was like a kid in a candy store. Tricia did such an incredible job, I remember thinking wow I hope my camera can even nature these as they are (and smell) in real life. They were so gorgeous. In fact, their entire day was. Here’s a peek.
