When you plan a September wedding in Michigan, you want it to be exactly like Mario & Nicole’s big day at Black Barn Vineyard & Winery in Rives Junction.  I know, it’s off the beaten path and just West of Ann Arbor and that makes it even that more magical. This amazing wedding venue has posted up on the scene and it is getting everything right. The incredible property sits on rolling acres of grapevines, flanked by willow trees and a spring pond.  The sun rises and sets in just the perfect spots and the barn was designed to make shooting a dream. So when you add this beautiful couple (and their amazing engagement shoot) and the most ideal fall day into the mix, it makes for the most amazing September wedding day.

Nicole & Mario … what a joy.  From start to finish you have been some of the kindest people to work with.  Can we do this all over again, please?  I loved getting to know you and your little family and you wedding day was honestly a dream.  I feel so lucky that our paths have crossed and I cannot wait to hear what’s next for the two of you and your little ones.

A big, heartfelt thank you goes out to one of the best teams & staff that I love to work with:

Venue: Black Barn Vineyard & Winery

Planning: Pineapple Punch Events

Floral & Design: Jen House Design

Makeup & Hair: Crystal Fricke

Cinematography: My Touch Weddings

Entertainment: Trevino Entertainment

Did you do a first look?

We chose not to do the first look and keep the ceremony traditional with me walking down being the first time Mario would see me:)

What was your best source for finding vendors that you wanted to work with?

Mishelle gave us a list of vendors that I felt were super helpful and we ended up using quite a few for our wedding:)

Any advice to newly engaged couples?

Enjoy. Every. Minute. Because it goes by way to fast. Take time to yourselves on your wedding day to just be together as husband and wife.

What was your most memorable moment that day?

Honestly, we both really enjoyed the moments with just him and I. The late night pictures at sunset were super intimate and allowed us to kind of reminisce on the whole day. We both were busy throughout the night talking with everyone and just being there in the moment that those pictures really gave us some “me” time on our day.

Did you Honeymoon?  If so, where?

We did. We traveled to Cabo, Mexico! Amazing trip and amazing memories.

What is your next big adventure as a married couple?

Our next adventure is to just continue growing as a couple and being each others support through whatever life decides to throw our way. We have very strong communication with each other, which is something I feel very blessed to have with him. It makes difficult decisions and obstacles easier to get through.  Also, raising our two amazing children duh!
