Have y’all been to Texas? Ok, I could not resist a very Texas opening line in my first post of 2021.
Frank & Jaclyn brought me downtown to Austin Texas a few weeks ago for their Austin engagement shoot, and I had no idea I would fall head over heels in love with this city. I’ve been to Texas a dozen times or so in my lifetime as about half of my dad’s family lives near the border of Texas & Mexico and are sprinkled throughout Houston. But this was my first time visiting Austin and I’m so happy to say it won’t be my last! Literally, it won’t be my last as I’ll be heading back in October (for their wedding) at The South Congress Hotel right in the heart of SoCo … otherwise known as where the cool kids with the big hats and fancy kicks hang out.
Jaclyn & Frank were incredible hosts for the few days I was there, checking in and making sure I had everything I needed. They chose two gorgeous locations for their shoots and we started on Friday morning at Laguna Gloria, Austin’s Museum of Contemporary Art. And wow, what a beautiful location that transported us to another time & place. We strolled the grounds and mansion before heading back Downton to walk their wedding venue and shoot around near Music Lane & South Congress.
