A few weeks ago, I traveled to the other side of the state to St. Joseph on Lake Michigan for Zach & Brooklyn’s shoot. We had tossed around a few ideas ahead of time, she gave me a good vision for what she had in mind for the two of them. All the good things that go into a well planned engagement shoot. But what I didn’t know was that these two were about to show me something that was downright amazing.
Love.
Yes, I know. You were expecting something crazy maybe their pet llama or a ’67 Chevy in Candy Apple Red. Nope, just love. But the kind of love that moves you. The kind that you know is from some other world. And the kind of connection that defies all explanation – they sit in your car as you’re hitting side roads in your Jeep hunting for the perfect light – and in that moment you know that there is something called fate. And it’s sitting in the backseat of your car. And it’s incredible to witness.
Yeah, that was these two. His gentlemanly southern accent and her sweet, yet raspy voice, the sunlight that came through the trees that night, the little side roads that hadn’t seen a visitor in months … the nearly perfect sunset was simply icing on the cake as they say for their shoot. It was really watching the two of them together that affirmed what I’ve always believed in.
Love exists.
Fate is real.
I have the best job in the world to be a witness to it’s magic.
