What a busy weekend we had here at home. We’re slowly but surely getting our living room back together after having a fresh new color painted last week, and we’re having the baby’s room floor resurfaced and stained which means everything that normally would be in that room is gracefully lining our upstairs hallways. Oh, just a lovely sight. But knowing this is all temporary and that I get to get in there and start decorating is the light at the end of my tunnel. We had originally planned to get away this weekend and find some of that white stuff – you know snow – since all that seems to be falling from the sky lately is rain. But at the last minute we decided on a relaxing weekend at home and to our surprise, we even had a whole inch of snow for Jillian to play in. Ok there is a point to this post … I’m glad we cancelled our plans because I came down with a horrible head cold. I don’t get sick often, and honestly haven’t had even a cold in over a year, so I turn into a big baby. I spent a good part of the weekend curled up under a blanket and filled myself with home made soup, tea and so much honey and lemon I could barely see straight. I had picked up a bag of Meyer lemons for a recipe that I wanted to try over the weekend, so lucky me they were the perfect little pick me up that I needed to get me back on my feet. Lemons have this amazing way of waking you up and the bonus is that they are a great immune booster too. And it worked. I’m feeling so much better today and ready to tackle the week!
