I had a good handful of intimate weddings this season. And it was a breath of fresh air that was much needed. Shelby reached out to me just a month before her wedding date. And by a stroke of fate, I was open for it. Her kind words as we worked together on the details of her wedding day were so genuine. I had a wedding that was unfortunately cancelled which opened up their date. She had been following my work closely since a wedding that I shot in Grand Rapids back in 2010. We talked of fate and the happiness that she was marrying Tim and that I was available to be there for it.
Their day was simple, with only family as guests at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. The two of them got ready together in their suite and were hands on with all the details. Shelby made her own dress, just a few weeks before. Yes, you read that right. She made her own dress. And it was amazing, delicate just like her. We met on the street for a quick first look while the Dream Cruise was buzzing all around us before heading inside to exchange vows. They walked in together, hand in hand and walked out as husband and wife. They celebrated with champagne and an intimate dinner. It was a perfect way to start their lives together.
