It’s safe to say that my Class of 2015 Senior season is not only underway, but completely booked. It’s been a whirlwind of a summer, and I’ve had so many unique & beautiful seniors in front of my camera. I love everything about shooting seniors from planning for their shoot, getting to know them and watching them unfold right in front of me. I always strive to capture them in every single shoot.
Shelby was one of my first seniors this season, and we started planning for her shoot when there was still snow on the ground. I knew a few things about her … she had this amazing restored red truck, that she loved leather and that she wanted to pay tribute to her Grandpa in some way. Shelby also has been through a courageous journey, having had a complete facial reconstruction of her lower jaw and face within the past year. Yet, there she stood in front of my camera as beautiful as ever without missing a beat.
Thankfully, I have a handful of very generous friends like Heidi who let me use her incredible old schoolhouse studio and land just outside of Saline. It was just a perfect spot where we could pull up her truck and hang out for a few hours. We shot right through sunset and caught some gorgeous sunlight. We even had a few “orbs” join us in a few shots. These “orbs” accruing to Shelby’s mom, Lynne were her Grandpa and he tends to show up in pictures of her ever since she was a little girl.
