It’s that time of year again, where I find myself the most happy behind my camera. It’s this time of year that I get to meet and shoot some of the most stunning seniors. They come to their shoot a little nervous, but excited to see how our time together will unfold. And they always leave my heart feeling full. When I initially speak to my senior girls (and often times their parents too) I stress how important it is for their shoot to be about them. Who they are, not just what they look like. I love to get to know their nuances and let their personalities really translate in their images. That – to me – is what I love most about shooting seniors. Because each one is unique unto his/her own and no two are alike.
I’ve known Rose for a few years now. Her dad and my husband have worked together for the city for a few years and we’ve gotten to know her and watch her grow. My kids adore Rose, and I feel so lucky to have been the one to capture this time in her life. We spent a few hours together in Kerrytown and throughout some of my favorite spots in Ann Arbor a few weeks ago for her shoot. She’s such a beauty, Rose. She’s one of those girls that is head strong and knows how she wants the world to see her. I love that about her. And it’s her quiet sense of confidence that draws me in and leaves me so thankful to have had this time with her. Here’s a peek at Rose’s Senior Shoot.
