First and foremost thank you so much for all of the kind words, messages, cards and calls over the past few weeks. Your support and words of encouragement have truly made a difference in our lives as we adjust to our “new normal”. I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding and I have spoken to most of you over the phone at this point. But I wanted to take a few minutes this morning to give everyone a quick update, especially my clients. I am slowly making my return to my desk for a few hours each day to get caught up with work, editing and picking up where I left off a month ago when Jeff passed away. I have so many beautiful wedding peeks and galleries I’ve yet to deliver and look forward to sharing them all with you!
As you can imagine, when I lost my husband, and father to Jillian and Nash time stopped for me. My focus over the past few weeks have been on healing, grieving and comforting my little ones. This doesn’t at all mean that my clients are not important or a priority, but the grieving process is truly a process. Every day brings new challenges, adjustments and even new hope for moving forward. I was such an avid blogger, have always had a tight workflow and turnaround for my clients. But I guess you could say my experience of love & loss has knocked the wind out of my sails. But I’ll continue to deliver all my weddings as soon as I can, and am confident to have them done in time for you to share them over the holidays. I look forward to getting back to my normal rate of blogging and sharing but for now my commitment is to my clients and delivering their galleries in a timely manner.
With a new understanding that I’m now be a single mom to my 2 and 7 year old, I will be taking limited weddings for 2015. I currently have 15 weddings booked for next year, and I cannot wait to get to know these clients and am honored to be there for their big day. I have to be real and honest with myself in juggling a full-time business and two small children. I have always been committed to spending quality time getting to know my clients and cultivating a connection with them, and this will continue to be at the core of my brand. I will still be fielding through all inquiries and referrals and if I am unable to capture your day, I will surely put you in good hands I promise! Please continue to share your experience working with me, and send referrals my way. I have no plans to set down my camera anytime soon and feel so lucky to have a career that I love so much.
The scope of my business and my brand will stay the same. I will continue to offer mentoring and my For the Love of Learning 1:1 Mentoring for professionals. I will always shoot what I love, that being weddings, seniors and kids portraiture. Sure, my schedule may be a bit more limited. But that’s the silver lining … it allows me more time with my clients and more time to deliver an exceptional client experience.
On that note, this is a small peek (with more to come) of Jenny & Dean’s wedding that I shot the day before we lost Jeff. This is a very special wedding to me and always will be. Jenny & Dean are two of the kindest individuals I’ve had the pleasure of working with and cannot wait to share more with you from their big day.
