These are the walls that I wake up in, live in, raise my family in. The world outside these walls can often be wild, rough, confusing, fun and everything in between. I look at these walls every day. When guests are over or I have clients here for a consult, I love watching them explore the images on them and love that their reactions are most often a smile or a giggle. So I thought it would be fun to show you a little of whats on my four walls.
All around the house, in my office and even in my bathrooms I love to proudly display my work and images of my family mixed in with a few more bold and traditional pieces. Don’t worry about my extensive collection of Anne Rice books. It has nothing to do with my gorgeous bride.
My living room, our main living space. Where we have movie nights, cuddle up on the couch and watch Nash crash trains and cars into each other. An image from our wedding day in 1999. Our wedding was shot all on black and white film and I still cherish those images and look at that one each day.
And in our bedrooms, of course. First, our master. I love the way these canvases turned out and I love even more waking up to these sweet little faces each morning. I love this one in our master (above, left) taken by my friend and photographer, Carolina Araujo in Tampa Florida during one of our vacations and printed on a 20×30 canvas.
I love this little shadow box that I created for Jillian before she was born (pictured left). It’s old pictures of all of the influential women in her life. My great grandmother and grandmother, her aunts, my mother and myself as little girls and young women. And of course, one of my favorite canvases moved to one of our hallways to make room for new images of Nash. Also, her first pair of crocs that I mounted on a canvas. They’re so eensy weensy!
One of the most common questions that I get from both wedding and portrait clients alike is how to display their prints. First of all, let me say that it is really, really tough! And I find myself wishing that I had more bare walls to fill with images and art that makes my heart sing. All of my wedding clients receive their high-resolution files along with a print credit to use towards professional prints, canvases and albums. My Senior and Portrait clients have the option of purchasing hi-resolution files from their shoots. I will always steer my clients in the way of using Fine Art Canvas for their larger prints, and as you can see can really make your images stand out as art. It is hands down my favorite way to display my personal work. Something about the quality and the thickness that truly makes it feel like art. Along with digital files, my clients receive a 20 Page Inspire Guide that helps them along with ideas, measurements and sizing for displaying prints. My clients have found this guide to be really helpful when planning out just how to show off their favorite images from their shoot throughout their home.
