I have yet to form the words for a blog post about my life over the past three weeks since Jeff passed away. It even feels strange to type those words as I sit here at my desk for the first time in nearly 3 weeks. It’s still feels so unreal to me. But I know I have to get back to picking up the pieces and blogging, which I love to do. So I thought this would be a good starting point for me.
As you know, I am now thrown into the role of being a single working mom, and have no plans of putting down my camera anytime soon. Jeff gave our family the gift of letting me chase my dreams of being a photographer 7 years ago, and always encouraged me to lead by example for Jillian & Nash. I have plans to do exactly that.
In the coming weeks, you will see more personal posts from me mixed in with business through my journey of love & loss. It’s all a part of my story now whether I want it to be or not. And it’s also a part of our healing process. I miss my husband, and our children miss their daddy in ways that is utterly painful. But healing is happening every single day. The outreach that Jillian, Nash & I have seen in the past few weeks has been incredible. The photographer + creatives community have opened their hearts in ways I never thought possible. I’ll share as much as I can as it comes here on my blog in hope of spreading the word and paying it forward at the same time.
I work with so many wonderful people in the photography industry. I consider myself so lucky to get to call these people my friends. They inspire me to my core and help bring my work to life. I’ve been working with Jen House for nearly 5 years now. She is a Plymouth based Event Planner and Floral Designer extraordinaire. She has sent me countless wedding clients and because of her work, I have shot some of the most beautiful wedding imaginable. You think I’ve shot some beautiful weddings? Yeah, I pretty much showed up with a camera and she did all the hard work! She along with her business partner, Kendall Goddard have reached out to the community as a way to help Jillian, Nash & I as we navigate through some of our most challenging days. You guys, I have soooooo many people to thank. But this just felt like the right place to start to weave it into my business and start sharing my story.
Every Holiday, JHD creates some of the most beautiful wreaths. This year, they have decided to donate a portion of the proceeds to my family from the sales of their wreaths. I just can’t believe it. My heart can barely handle things like this because they fill me up in ways that I can’t explain. So please feel free to share this post, the link or Jen House Design’s information with anyone who you think might be interested.

From our hearts to yours, thank you. Mishelle, Jillian & Nash
