Here it is, on the very last day of May! And really? Very last day of May? Wow, summer is officially here, I’m back to work full-time and my little guy is 3 months old already. Hey Mr. Time? Slow … down … please.
Obsess – sure, why not start this obsessed list with something I’m obsessing over right? Makes sense to me. I’ve been obsessing over the color orange. The color of a creamsicle, to be exact. And it just may or may not will be making a debut soon with a little facelift for my website. Stay tuned …
Wear – speaking of color. Who ever would have imagined that colored jeans would make a HUGE comeback? The last time I remember wearing colored jeans was circa 1993. I was a sophomore in college, and mine were forest green. And if I remember correctly, my husband – then boyfriend had colored jeans too. Whoa. But they’re back in full force, and I love them. I now have a small collection of them that seems to magically grow every time I drive by the mall … red, yellow, mint … oh goodness. I think I have a problem.
Listen – straight out of the Motor City, a former altar boy for the Archdioceses of Detroit, Jack White is the epitome of incredible music for me. His lyric writing genuisness has been compared to the likes of Paul Mc Cartney and Mick Jagger, but his voice and talents are all his own. Unique, quirky and raw. His new album, Blunderbuss is incredible. I can’t get enough of it. And usually a guy with some tats and a guitar are considered eye candy to me. His looks are a bit Johnny Depp meets Edward Scissorhands, but it is simply his music that draws me in, chews me up and spits me out. Which is everything I love in good music.
Read – I did it. I jumped on the bandwagon and I can’t get off. (pun intended) Having borrowed this smutty, filthy read from one of my best friends, she must have known I somehow needed this book in my life. I can’t wait to tuck the kids into bed and have a little alone time with Mr. Grey. Don’t let anyone tell you that this is a bad read. It’s a gooood read in every way.
Lifestyle – lots of exciting things planned this summer! A trip to Chicago on the calendar, a weekend on the gorgeous shores of Lake Michigan, and even a family trip to California this fall for my (deep breath) 40th birthday. But the one that has me the most excited is a little weekend up at Torch Lake with one of my best friends and our families. They have a beautiful home up there, and we just love spending time all together. They have 3 kiddos, we’ll have two this year (eeek!) and it’s usually a weekend full of giggles, sunshine, boating, eating, dance parties and just plain ‘ol making memories. I can’t wait.
Inspire – need I say more? My kids. Both of them. They inspire me in countless ways. To create, to love, to grow, to live. I look into their little faces each morning when I wake up and I am reminded how lucky I am that they call me mom.
