Ann Arbor Engagement Session
It’s that time of year again, and love is in the air, along with the falling leaves and mild days. Ok, fast forward to today, as I look out my office window and see the ground covered in all this white stuff. And then I realize I still have so many fall weddings, engagements and even 2017 clients that will be hitting the blog soon! And one of the things I love about engagement shoots is not just to sit back and watch people connect, but get a good sense of how they connect. Are they cuddly? Fun? Serious? What is it that makes them comfortable to be in front of the camera? All these questions that I ask myself during their engagement session will help me tell their wedding day story as well. I try to stand back and watch them connect at first without little direction from me to see what is is that draws them close to each other. Once we’ve settled into some shooting, then I’ll direct a bit to make sure I’ve captured not just what they look like, but who they are … together.
Like Marc & Sara … and Remy! I actually love it when clients want to bring their fur babies to their shoot, because it really helps bring the nerves down a bit and gives them a sense of home. These two (or three shall I say) are adorable together. Laughing and smiling are what draws them together. but what I loved most was watching Marc bust out his million dollar smile every time he looked over at Sara. I’m being serious, he has this most genuine smile and she brings it out in him. Isn’t that amazing? I loved working with these two as we strolled through Ann Arbor & campus at some of the prettiest spots.
I feel so darn lucky to be there for their wedding day next summer at The Wyndgate Country Club in Rochester Hills. I’ve shot there once before, and this is no ordinary boring Country Club. It has a beautiful barn and an amazing spot at the top of the hill to exchange vows. Here’s a peek at their Ann Arbor Engagement Session.
