This past weekend, I had the honor of meeting & shooting these two in Downtown Chicago. It had been a long time coming since I met with Heather’s parents on a cold & rainy October day in Ann Arbor for the wedding consult. I knew pretty quickly after sharing stories over breakfast with her parents that Heather was one special girl. And that she had found someone who completed her … Uche. These two actually met when they were in elementary school, and then eventually reunited as students at U of M where they met again and fell in love. They have already been on so many adventures as a couple, living for 5 years in Manhattan and another couple of years in Downtown Chicago. After looking to escape the hustle & bustle of the big cities, they just recently finished building their new home – an actual house – with parking, grass & their own driveway! Ok, well, they’ve yet to have their grass planted or driveway poured but they’re very excited to be adjusting in a beautiful suburb right outside of Chicago.
We met on Saturday night at my hotel and they took me on a grand tour of the city for a few hours of shooting. We started out at their old address, with views of Lake Michigan and nestled right next to The W Hotel. The waterfront & downtown areas were bursting with activity since it had been raining for 3 consecutive days. The sun was warm & inviting and just perfect for a sunset Love Shoot. I can’t wait for their Ann Arbor wedding next month, to see her family again and to meet some of Uche’s family who is traveling here to the States from Nigeria. Here’s a peek at our time together in The Windy City.
A big, enormous thank you to Ashley of Ashley Leslie Photography out of Columbus who was with me for a weekend of fun, shooting & mentoring.
