I get asked a lot about why I chose to be a wedding photographer. Of all the things I could shoot … babies, trees, kids, fruit, far away places …why I chose weddings. And the answer for me is simple. I’m in love with love. And I get to see it, experience and feel it first hand when it’s in front of my lens. There is something about the way a woman’s eyes light up when she’s next to someone she loves. It’s almost as if I can see her edges soften, her smile become brighter and her eyes light up. It’s quite amazing. And in a nutshell, that’s why I chose to be a wedding photographer.
Nan & Joe are no exception, and I got to spend some time with the two of them for their Love Shoot a few weeks back. We started our shoot at a location that is near and dear to Nan’s heart, The Women’s Center of Southeast Michigan, where she is a Program Director and she helps empower women and helps them build confidence, strengthen connections and create positive change in their lives. It’s an amazing organization! You’ll be hearing more about it in the coming months and it will be a thread that’s woven into their big day, this coming November at The Book Cadillac in Downtown Detroit. I’m lucky enough to have their wedding day coordinated and styled by the incredible Jen House of A Moment in Time Events. We’re working together with a dream team of vendors for Nan & Joe’s wedding day and I’m looking forward to capturing it all. But in the meantime, here’s a peek at their Love Shoot and our time together.
