I first met Kevin & Danielle (what seems like) a long time ago, but in actuality was only about a year and a half ago. I loved them instantly. They were planning an early spring Planterra Conservatory Wedding, and were happy to let me in on their vision, concerns with shooting a fairly difficult venue and how important it was for them to have a beautiful time with their family & friends. But it wasn’t really all of that pretty stuff that I fell in love with. It was them. The two of them, together. Danielle has a quietness about her that somehow lets you know that she is quiet, yet fierce. And as loyal as they come. Kevin, on the other hand is my perfect … groom. Yes, I usually say this when talking about my brides, but Kevin is my jam. We speak the same language. He’s questioning, curious, organized and doesn’t miss a beat. He knows exactly what he wants and nothing stands in his way. Gosh that sounds so cheesy – but after spending time with the both of them for they fall engagement shoot where they rode on a bicycle but for two through the backroads of Ann Arbor to the exquisite tailoring of his attire by Stuart Silbert on his wedding day – I think you see why I instantly fell in love with them.
Their March wedding at Planterra Conservatory was incredible, and I’m always honored to be a Preferred Vendor and meet incredible clients who are just the right fit for me. And that makes the perfect jumping off point for a wonderful creative collaboration between myself & my clients. The design team at Planterra Conservatory are some of the best in the biz. And this wedding is proof of their hard work & vision. Yes, I know I may have over shot the tables and definitely overshot that incredible cake (I mean how many cake shots does a couple need??) by Sweet Heather Anne. Danielle wanted to run with all the lush greenery inside the conservatory and opted for a neutral palate of white, greens & navy for her bridal party and bouquet. The tables were dresses with sprigs of rosemary, navy & just the hint of color. It looked increase when it all came together, and honestly one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve shot at Planterra. The icing on the cake had to be the live entertainment from Rodney Page. If you have never seen him perform, either as a guest at a wedding or an event, he is a treasure! He strummed the night away and got nearly every guest on the dance floor.
Here’s a look at Danielle & Kevin’s Planterra Conservatory wedding.
And a little behind the scenes with Heather & one of my favorite shooters, Brandon. Always love being part of a dream team!
