All I knew was that it was a rainy November morning, and I was meeting with a potential bride’s parents for coffee at their venue, Weber’s Inn. Karen, Heather’s mom was doing much of the coordinating with vendors since Heather & Uche lived in Chicago but were planning an Ann Arbor wedding. But coffee turned into breakfast, and a few hours later, I was crossing my fingers & toes under the table and hoping I would be the photographer they chose for their daughter’s wedding the following summer. And so that rainy November morning brought me to Heather & Uche. We met earlier this spring in The Windy City for a pretty magical Love Shoot. The connection these two have in undeniable, and I’ve loved every minute working with them and documenting their journey.
On their wedding day, Heather & Uche were surrounded by family & friends from around the globe, literally. And it was so beautiful to see these families become one. After their ceremony, we headed over to campus to shoot at some of their favorite spots before heading over to their reception at Weber’s Inn. Their reception was full of ceremonial traditions like showering the couple with dollars and the presenting of the Kola Nut. And at the end of the night, I wanted to marry into this family too! To Heather, Uche, Karen & Rick … thank you so much for letting me be a small part of your family’s story. I’ve loved every minute working with you all and hope that our paths will cross again soon. Much Love, Mishelle
Also a big thanks to my dear friend, Jen Prouty for coming along for the ride for this wedding and helping me capture it xoxo
