Well, if there’s one thing that’s an unexpected plus about just now getting around to blogging some of my fall weddings, then it would have to be the reminder that it won’t be freezing forever.
I love shooting intimate weddings. And when I say love, I mean adore them. So when Heather reached out to me in early spring of last year and asked if I would be available to shoot her elopement to Dave, I knew right away that I could make it work. And I’m so happy that I did. I loved everything about her vision … “A simple backdrop, under a tree in The Arb just Dave & I and a few witnesses …”. Oh, their day couldn’t come fast enough for me. Heather & Dave have been together for quite some time, so it was no surprise when they started sharing some of these images with family and friends. It was important to Heather that their wedding day be just about the two of them, without all of the commotion and business of a full wedding. And that is exactly what it was.
Heather enlisted some of Ann Arbor’s very best vendors for her wedding day. Heather was glowing thanks to the help of my dear friend and very talented MUA, Jill Sollars. Her flowers were designed by Lisa of Pot & Box, sweets from Sweet Heather Anne & Stacy from A Simple Ceremony to help them seal their vows. Their amazing backdrop was handmade by the two of them, and it was perfect in every way. They joined 10 of their closest friends for dinner following at The Earle complete with a signature cake from Sweet Heather Anne.
A great big thank you also goes out to my friend Meg of Meg Darket Photography for helping me with this special one. Her help, creativity & friendship this past year is something that I will be forever grateful for!
Here’s a look at Heather & Dave’s elopement, enjoy.
