Sarah & Colin are married! And I’m so happy to share all the pretty details of their wedding day at The Chapel at St. John with you here on my blog. I knew from the moment that we put together fun, vibrant and delicate details for their Love Shoot that this was going to surely be a wedding to remember. I’ve known Sarah & her family for quite some time. Not only did she and Colin go to high school with my younger siblings, but her parents are some of my parents dearest friends. It was such a treat to look out while shooting and see some familiar faces.
Sarah shared with me all of the stories behind the vision of her wedding. Every detail accompanied by the most personal touch and incorporated with meaning. Like the story of the lovebirds … when her and her brother were little, they would always declare birds sitting on a wire as a bird wedding and had imagined their own weddings. So naturally, the theme lovebirds was incorporated throughout from her Save the Dates right on through to their cake topper. A donation to the National Institute on Drug Abuse was made in lieu of favors as well as the origami cranes delicately strung with pearls, each hand made by the creative hands of Wendy, Sarah’s beautiful mom. And as a nod to Sarah & Colin’s sweet tooth, their sweet table that was covered in antique candy dishes filled with treats from Kilwin’s was enough to make Willy Wonka look like a novice. Cabbage roses filled mercury glass vases on each of the tables along with soft pink and grey details throughout.
They celebrated late into the night with family and friends and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house (due to laughter, no doubt) when Sarah’s dad Bob made his speech. All I can say is boo yah, Bob! You knocked it out of the ballpark.
I could go on and on about how wonderful it’s been working with these two and what and honor it was to be their photographer. But I think people come to my blog to see pretty images, not to hear me gushing over the details. So here’s a peek.
Oh, and a big thanks to Alex of Alex J Photography for helping me with this one. Love working alongside of you and rockin’ out those ring shots. Many thanks, my friend!
