Oh, Michigan. You’re so unpredictable sometimes with your temperamental weather in the spring. Sun one day, rain the next. Andrea & Patrick were married a few weeks ago one of the rainiest wedding Saturdays that I can remember for quite some time. And not only did it rain, but it came down in buckets … sideways. The entire day. Yes, it’s true. We found ourselves scrambling in Downtown Detroit to find a few covered locations and shimmy our way through 1000’s of TSwizzle fans that were pouring into Ford Field for a concert that night, just a few blocks away. But that didn’t stop us from capturing their beautiful wedding & reception at one of my favorite downtown venues, The Colony Club. After stopping in Eastern Market for a few portraits, we celebrated with these two and 150 of their closest family & friends in the Petite Ballroom. And what a treat the night turned out to be, complete with a performance by Patrick & his bandmates at the end of the night.
What started out to be a day full of raindrops and teenyboppers, ended up being a perfect wedding day for these two. Here’s a look at their Downtown Detroit wedding.
Ceremony: Gesu Church, Detroit
