Amazing little soul.

Where does the time go?  I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that my little Jillian is 5 years old today.  It seems like just yesterday that she made her little entrance into the world at an unexpected 5 weeks ahead of schedule.  I mean, I can barely remember life before her.  And every time I look into her beautiful face and hazel eyes, I see this amazing little soul that I am so proud to call my daughter.  She has grown into such a little spitfire, and a perfect little potpourri of her mommy and daddy.  She’s got my sense of humor, and ability to laugh like there’s no tomorrow and daddy’s love of classic cars and sports.  Oh, and she most definitely has his little dimple on the right side just below her mouth and his little laugh lines right around her eyes that make my heart melt every single time.

Yesterday, she celebrated her birthday with 10 of her best little girlfriends.  It was a sweet day, to say the least.  One of my best friends, Wendy is breaking into the party planning business (more on her in a later blog post) and pulled everything off with flying colors – and so much hard work.  The girls baked and decorated cookies and cupcakes, all while decked out in their own little custom aprons and chef hats.  It was a day we’ll never forget.  So today, we celebrate here at home where it’s nice and quiet and we can relish in some family time.  Just the three of us.

Happy birthday to my little girl.  From the moment I met you, my heart was forever changed.
