Northern Michigan Engagement
Fall is the perfect time to travel in Northern Michigan. A few weeks ago, I traveled up to Traverse City for Jeff & Sam’s Northern Michigan engagement session. Jeff & Sam are getting married up there next September at The Ciccone Vineyard in Leelanau. Naturally, leading up to the day of their shoot it was near perfect weather. Yet the night before we were met with downpouring rain, and woke up to a dense fog & cooler temps. Naturally, just as Michigan usually has a few tricks up her sleeve.
But these two went with the flow, and we met in Downtown Traverse City for a few shots before heading up to Mission Peninsula. Jeff had proposed up there and wanted to go back as well as visit some of their favorite spots like The Jolly Pumpkin & Bowers Harbor Vineyard (also one of my favorites!). I could immediately tell that it was one of their favorites as well, as we strolled through the vines and I heard stories of the day he proposed and the shenanigans that went along with it.
So we drove up & down the peninsula, hitting some of those cozy spots in between raindrops and fog. I’m pretty darn thankful that I always carry a few clear umbrellas with me for reasons like this! As we drove up the Peninsula, we spent most of the time getting to know each other, and taking of plans for their wedding day. It’s going to be filled with family, friends, and pretty details … and wine. Plenty of wine at one of the most beautiful vineyards on the Peninsula in Northern Michigan. What a joy they’ve been to work with already. I simply can’t wait for their wedding day. Here’s a peek at our time together Up North.
