I am so excited to share Jeff & Amelia’s Detroit Yacht Club wedding over the Memorial Day weekend. They have been such a blast to work with from their engagement shoot at Cranbrook last fall to their classic Detroit wedding! Everything from the perfect weather to the intimate details, the flowers and our transportation by Detroit Bus Company, my second shooter Hannah and working with some of my favorite videographers Dee & Kyra from My Touch Weddings made for such fun day on Belle Isle. It just so happened that we caught the front end of the Grand Prix happening on Belle Isle the following weekend, so we had to navigate to the conservatory and through the buzz of the crowds. But nothing stopped these two from having the time of their lives with family & friends.
Ashley from Festoons & Flourishes took the lead in designing their timeless Detroit Yacht Club wedding. I always love working with talented planners & designers. They bring such a refined vision to any wedding day. She kept a clean palate of color with vibrants greens & florals from Bella L’Venti in Brighton and mixed in with hints of Navy for a try nod to the nautical yacht club vibe. I am smitten with all of the clean pallets I’m seeing lately in weddings, they lend to such a timeless feel and really let the other details stand out on their own like Amelia’s dress and Jeff’s suit & tie. Their guests enjoyed cocktails on the terrace before and after their ceremony and were privy to one of the best spots in the city to catch a breathtaking sunset. After toasts & dinner, they danced the night away in the grand ballroom to a live band. We hopped outside just in time to see the sunset on one of the biggest days of their lives so far. Here’s a look into Jeff & Amelia’s Detroit Yacht Club Wedding.
