People should fall in love with their eyes closed.

Last week, I met with Beth + Jared for their engagement shoot here in Downtown Dexter. I’m so glad we had that time together to get to know each other and hear more about their plans for their wedding at Weller’s later this fall. Not only did I get a chance to learn a little more about them, but also learned a little more about myself.
You see, Jared was born blind. But his hasn’t sopped him from falling in love with Beth, pursuing a career as a computer programmer and trust me when I say his quick wit and playfulness make up for any physical limitations he might encounter in his life. Within the first 5 mins of our shoot, he announced “You know, I really don’t care about the photos Mishelle. So let’s get this over with quickly”. And then proceeded to laugh, knowing he would leave me stumped. I mean, I love that honesty and I’m sure I have a lot of grooms who would love to say that as well! But we strolled through downtown Dexter along the river with their furry friend Zoey, and it was a perfect summer night buzzing with the sounds of summer.
What I loved most about Beth + Jared is that they didn’t really need me there to tell their story. It is obvious. They adore each other in so many ways, even the bystanders on the river that night noticed the laughter shared by these two. Their wedding day is gi=oing to be full of people they love, family & friends near and far who have watched their love story unfold. It’s going to be one I’m certainly looking forward to.
And to Beth & Jared – thank you so much for trusting me with one of the biggest day of your lives. I am truly honored to be the one to show the world how great your love for each other is. You both are a shining example of what friendship, love and companionship is truly about. I can’t wait for your wedding day. xoxo, Mishelle
