Jade & Alex’s wedding day at Meadowbrook Hall & Gardens was out of a fairytale. Literally. Because these two were a dream two work with from start to finish. The best kind of love that grows & grows, kind & generous to each other and those in their lives. Their parents & siblings came together to be right by their sides the entire day, and I felt just so darn lucky to be a part of it all, if even in a small way. Their May wedding was of course in typical Michigan fashion: a crazy unpredictable forecast providing with a confusing mix of clues, rain and even a few snowflakes flying around. Yup. Exactly my thoughts too. But Jade didn’t even flinch about it all. She kept her eye on the prize and all she cared about was walking down that aisle to meet her prince, Alex. That’s what the whole day was about, right? So when it came time to make the call to have the ceremony outside in the cold & wind, I’m pretty sure I recall her saying “I pictured us getting married outside on the beautiful grounds. And that’s what’s going to happen. Everyone will be cold, but we’ll make it quick. All I care about is marrying my love.” And that’s what they did.
Their wedding day was dripping with all of the most classic yet ethereal details … her mint shoes, his blue suit, butterfly escort cards, the paper goods … right down to the sweets by the insanely talented Sweet Heather Anne & incredible florals by New Creations Flower Company. I was again reminded how much I love working with a team of talented vendors and how much it really ties up the loose ends of a wedding day, even when it’s at a perfect location like Meadowbrook.
