Today marks a milestone that I didn’t quite reach when I had my daughter… this little one in my belly is full-term. Yes, I’m doing a little cheer inside and always amazed that our bodies know exactly what is best for us. Jillian surprised us all when she made up her mind to join us 5 weeks early the week of Christmas instead of the middle of January. But his little boy is a different story. Oh noooo, he’s sitting nice and high, all tucked up warm and cozy like a little ball right under mommy’s right rib. And I have a feeling that’s where he’s going to stay for the next 3 weeks. Whether he comes sooner or later doesn’t matter to me, all I care about at this point is that he is delivered safely and is healthy.
So I decided to pack my bag for the hospital. Just in case he takes after his sister. My bag is full of essentials to make everything go as smoothly as I hope, including my favorite music all loaded up on my iPod and a few gifts from family and friends. Everything that needs to be done around the house is, I’ve done all the nesting an expectant mom can do. His nursery is all organized and finished (and I’ll be sure to post more pics after he is home in it and we’ve revealed his name), closets are cleaned, our living room and Jillian’s room survived a major re-decorating, all his cloth diapers have been washed a zillion times, and now we wait for him to arrive. I simply can’t wait to smell his sweet breath, hear his cry and hold him close. 3 weeks seems like … an eternity.
