It’s that time of year, I suppose. Where this unpredictable Michigan weather takes a turn and summer is officially here … oh wait … maybe not. Yes, this is what happened over the weekend when temps went from high 80’s to high 60’s in a matter of hours. Leaving Jillian, Nash and I with a fabulous round of summer colds. So Jillian stayed home sick on Monday from school and we all got to cuddle up and watch movies all day. I’m not going to lie, it was kind of nice. After Nash woke up from his morning nap, I started to strip the beds and get everything washed. I laid him down for a bit in the middle of our naked, king sized bed.
And as I sat there for a moment I relished in the fact that he isn’t mobile yet. No running away from me, climbing on furniture, no falling down stairs. And I know this won’t last forever. So I let him lay there for a minutes and enjoyed him and his happy bonding time with Mr. Ceiling Fan. Minutes later, Jillian came running in and joined the party and that’s when I declared “freeze!” and made a mad dash for my camera. Approximately 7 minutes later, I had a handful of adorable little images of my little loves that make me smile from ear to ear. Oh, I’m a happy mommy.
This is where Nash starts to think “get me out of here!!”
A few kisses later and he was happy again. Jillian insisted that I take a picture of his foot. I happily obliged.
After we were done, Nash was ready for another nap and Jillian was ready for some time with just her in front of the camera.
Her laugh, her smile is intoxicating. We spent a few minutes together, and then she ran for a … cape and mask? Of course, she did. She’s my Jillian.
As we wrapped up, she laid there on the bed in front of my favorite canvas in our bedroom. Oh, where has the time gone. She’s getting so big. And she really is my hero, she’s just amazing.
