What a wonderful year it’s been.  And I’d like to leave it at just that.  Looking back on year’s past, I’ve mustered up some pretty extensive lists for New Year’s resolutions that get just about half way complete. And it’s kind of disappointing in a way. Which is no way to look back and reflect.  So this year, I’m keeping it simple. Literally.  Two things I’d like to accomplish as I embark on the new year as a mom, a wife, a photographer …

Be Happy – this one should be pretty easy considering we’re expecting a new little wrinkly bundle of happiness this March.  I am beside myself with anticipation.  I just can’t wait to meet him.  And smell him. Oh, I love the way a new baby smells… Aside from that, I try to live a generally happy life.  I strive to stay focused on the positive things happening around me and surround myself with people who share the same ideals.  It means so much to me to have friends and family in my life who make me laugh, inspire me in countless ways and who love to celebrate the good things in life.  Because there truly are so many reasons to celebrate.

Live Simply – an ongoing task for sure.  Ever since I walked away from my job (and income) in Corporate America almost 2 years ago to pursue my dreams of being a full time photographer and have more time with my family, this has been an ever evolving goal of mine.  Everything from my closets to my refrigerator have been simplified.  This year I plan to continue working hard and starting from right here inside the house.  I mean, I just don’t need all the stuff that used to fill up my house.  I have everything I need when I look around me.  A happy and healthy family, a place to call home and friends whom I love.  What more could a girl ask for?  Oh yea.  Wonderful clients.  Already have that!

This would be a great time to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of my amazing and wonderful clients this year.  You made 2011 a year to remember!  I have never felt more inspired by each of you and appreciative of your trust in me to capture such an important time in your life, whether your a senior, a family, a commercial client or a bride or groom.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

So here’s wishing all of you a wonderfully simply and happy New Year in 2012 and beyond!  May your heart be full and your life be rich with love and light.

And thank you to one of the most important people in my life, my niece Candice.  These adorable little candles were not only a gift, but a sweet reminder of how much you mean to me and understand me.  Love you!
