I have to be honest, last year at this time I knew I had a little boy in my belly but I had no idea how much fun it would be. I feel so lucky to have both a girl and a boy. I love my little girl, yet there’s something about being the mom of a boy that is entirely different. It’s as if everything is an adventure. Even something simple like a few building blocks turns into booming, crashing and banging them together to see if the Empire State Building can indeed be built. And so when I set out this year to find Nash just the perfect Halloween costume, I found myself in the middle of dozens upon dozens of action heroes, monsters, zombies … you name it. But I just couldn’t find one that was right for him. Until I remembered that I still had all of Jillian’s old Halloween costumes in the attic. I actually bought her costume when I was still pregnant with her. I saw it in the store and had to get it for my kid. I mean, who dresses their kid up like a chicken? Me, that’s who.
And just for kicks, I had to pull out a few shots of Jillian in the same costume 5 years ago. The last two pictures – one of her crying and then next to Nash are of Jillian!
Wishing all the ghosts, goblins, monsters, princesses, and super heroes out there a safe, dry and Happy Halloween!
