Breathe in, breathe out. This is what I kept telling myself as I was shooting Meghan and Jeff’s wedding. Every part of their day had my heart skipping a beat and I found myself in the middle of one of the most gorgeous weddings I’ve ever shot. These two had booked me earlier in the year sight unseen yet as soon as I met them, I understood fully their wedding day would be one of my favorites. I was so excited when I arrived that day and found Meghan in her suite. Meghan got ready for her wedding day surrounded by her maids and family at The Henry, one of my favorite boutique hotels in Metro Detroit. And as soon as I arrived, I caught my breath as Russ Simon was putting the finishing touches on her. Wow, that man has some talented hands and artistry. Meghan was stunning.
This timeless wedding held at The Henry Ford Museum was meticulously planned from start to finish by the incredible Emerald City Designs, and the feel was a perfect mix of vintage classic. Their cake was pure white chocolate perfection from Elite Sweets, and just one step near it and you were immediately taken over by the sweet smell of white chocolate.
Update: A look at Meghan & Jeff’s wedding trailer here. A big thanks to not only a dream team of wedding vendors, but also to my second shooter, Meg of Meg Darket Photography. Meg, you know I adore you and am so thankful that you were with me for this one! Thank you xoxox Also, big shout out to one of my favorite videographers, Zara Creative. This was my first time shooting with Heather, Jason and the team and I loved every minute of it. These guys are such pros at what they do, and added such a great level of enthusiasm and professionalism that is unmatched. Brides, if you are still in search of a videographer for your wedding day, please get in touch with them. I highly recommend them and their work.
With the threat of rain that eventually pulled the entire ceremony inside the museum, we met up for a first look on the grounds of Greenfield Village with the two of them and later with the wedding party. Rain or shine, their wedding day will top the charts as one of my all time favorites that I’ve shot.
A few words from Meghan & Jeff: From the moment we spoke over the phone, our first meeting and on our wedding day, Mishelle went above and beyond for us and helped make our wedding day so special. Mishelle was the perfect fit for Jeff and I. We had an immediate connection and formed an instant friendship with her. We truly believe that our wedding day would not have been what it was, if it wasn’t for her. She instantly became more than just our photographer. She helped to coordinate our wedding day, from the timing of everything and what to expect throughout the day. On the morning of our wedding, I was so excited to see Mishelle when she arrived in the bridal suite. Seeing Mishelle put my mind at ease and it was like seeing an old friend. Shooting with Mishelle is effortless. She not only makes you feel comfortable, but beautiful and confident as well. We spent the entire day laughing and chatting and we could feel how happy she was for us as we strolled around the grounds of Greenfield Village and into the night inside The Henry Ford Museum. She is an amazing photographer but an even more amazing person who truly cares for her clients. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to have not only worked with Mishelle but just to have met her and to be able to call her a friend.
Here’s a peek at their day.
