From a beach to the farm, Sammi’s shoot last week was so much fun. I remember speaking to Renee, Sammi’s mom earlier in the summer and she had her heart set on both locations. And after toying with the idea of heading over to the West side of the state for her shoot, we decided to head down to Luna Pier right here in Southeast Michigan instead. And I must say I’m glad we did! What gorgeous, white sandy beaches down there. And what’s a mom to do when looking for a farm for her daughter’s senior shoot? Well, knock on doors of course! Yes, Renee knocked on a few doors in the weeks leading up to our shoot and was lucky enough to find a generous home owner who welcomed us with open arms. The weather was a glorious 70 degrees and just the perfect amount of wind to add a little drama to her shoot. Here’s a peek.
And for the photographer’s out there – did you know that if you are a Gold or Platinum member of CPS that you qualify for loans on gear? Canon Professional Services is something you should really be taking advantage of if you aren’t already. Not only for loans on gear, but for repairs, cleaning and just about anything that your gear needs. I’ve been looking at the 1D series bodies and Canon’s incredible Tilt-shift lenses. So after a call into CPS a few weeks ago, they approved and sent out a Canon 1D Mkiii and 17mm – TSE for me to shoot with for two weeks at no charge. Let’s just say I love both and am glad I was able to take them for a test drive before a big investment. Many of the shots here from Sammi’s shoot were shot with them and it’s been fun playing.
