Are you ready for more Austin, Texas awesomeness from my time visiting two of my amazing wedding couples? Well, ready or not here it comes another Austin Engagement Shoot. Before we head into the real reason you’re here (let’s be real, it’s not my blubbering but it’s actual imagery) I have to thank not only my clients but Texas Sailing for a wonderful sail and making us feel so welcome on their boats.
I’ve been shooting in Natalie’s family in a round about way for over a decade. I shot not only her senior pictures 8 years ago, but before that her cousins, aunts and there may not be a family member that hasn’t;t smiled for me & my camera for many, many years. And I love that. I love that she reached out to have me shoot her wedding darn near the moment Evan slipped that ring on her finger and together, I get to the their story through my images. They’ll be having a winter wedding here in Michigan in December, and it just feels so right to see her shoots come full circle. A true story of who she was and who she’s grown into and I feel really, truly privileged to be a small piece of it all.
Evan & Natalie are actually both from Michigan, and met there but their life has taken them to Austin Texas though work & Evan’s time in the service. And trust me when I say, Texas looks good on them! They love the mix of big city & “Hill Country” that Austin has to offer. We started planning their shoot along with Jaclyn & Frank (see previous post) earlier this year and thought how awesome it would be to just bring me down for a few days for both of their engagement shoots. Genius! Natalie & Evan love the big city & skyline of Austin, but their favorite part to explore is Hill Country where it almost looks like you’re in Sicily … literally! One of their favorite things to do is charter a boat and hit one of the many lakes. And they had envisioned chartering a sailboat on Lake Travis for this shoot. I, of course jumped at the chance. I love all things water, sunset, fresh air. We stopped first in the bog city, then hopped in the car and an hour drive later we were in the middle of paradise. Here’s a look at my time in Austin.
A warm & huge THANK YOU to these ladies who drove us around, treated me to dinner and made for the best company during my stay in Austin. I love you all dearly.
