December is a great month to indulge in a few little obsessions. For me anyways, it was just a matter of sending a little link over to my hubby and in hopes that a few of these will resonate with him and end up on my Christmas list!  So we shall see. Here we go!

Inspire – December has been a whirlwind month for us here at home.  So much for any “slow season” for me.  In the past two weeks, we have managed to move one little girl out of the nursery and into a newly designed big girl room, order all new furniture for our living room to make it more practical for a family of four, and start designing a certain little boy’s brand new nursery.  Whew!  Those who know me best know that I am in my element when it comes to designing or redesigning a room.  I am loving every single minute of it!  I’ve been pouring over baby blog after baby blog, looking for little bits of inspiration here and there.  I was the same way when Jillian was born.  And I’m so happy that I spent so much time planning it and making it just the perfect little space for my babies’ to come home to.  It’s such a personal little space to me, and should be somewhere that they feel safe and comfortable and where we can spend countless hours in those first years cuddling the nights away.  I almost have all the elements pulled together for this little boys nursery, and I’m anxious to get in there and start it after the new year.  Now the hardest part … convincing Jeff to let me paint it this most amazing color of blue that I’m also obsessing over. I might just have to get it done while he’s not looking.

Listen – Two words, one artist.  Ray Lamontagne.  Amazing, soulful, heartfelt music.  With that perfect mix of soothe, blues and deep lyrics that I so often long for.  I get sucked right into that raspy voice of his and know his music will stand the test of time.  Oh, I just love his voice.  Gets me every time.

Wear – I remember distinctly when people started wearing Uggs.  I remember thinking … those are the uggliest things I’ve ever seen.  There’s no way in hell I’m ever going to wear those … Well, fast forward through a few freezing cold winters and now being way pregnant, I can barely pry them off my fat little swollen feet.  I have about three pairs in the sweater material and they have to be the most practical and comfiest shoes I’ve ever owned.  Wow, did I really just say that?  A girl who constantly lives in heels?

Lifestyle – Yes, another Apple product makes another Obsessed List.  Surrrprise.  But really don’t remember life before my iPhone.  And now that I have the new 4s that has my own personal assistant named Siri – ok, she’s not really my own but 4.5m other people also have her – she’s so wonderful.  She sets my alarms, reminds me of appointments, grocery lists, helps me find my way.  Shoot she does almost everything except my laundry and dishes.  Darn, we’ll have to work on that.  In all seriousness, I do everything from my iPhone, including running a good majority of my business when I’m away from my desk.  All of my important tools have apps including ShootQ, my lab, iCal, Evernote, USPS, Zenfolio, my website and blog.  The list goes on.  This phone has been a godsend for me the past couple of years, and makes me feel on top of my game all the time.  Love it.

Read – As soon as life slows down a bit ( you know, probably the week before this baby comes).  I look forward to digging into the small pile of half-read books that sits below my bed.  Reading is truly a luxury for me.  It’s one of those things that after you’ve finished an amazing book, you ask yourself “why don’t I do this more often?”.  So, I look forward to doing it more often.  Just as soon as … life slows down.

And lastly, but certainly not least…

Holiday – So much great holiday inspiration in Pinterest lately.  Especially when it comes to gift wrapping.  I always try to keep my wrapping simple, and I love the look of piles of presents all gussied up in the same wrapping sitting under my tree every year.  I love the natural wrapping that I’ve been seeing too, using fresh herbs, twigs and even doiles.  How cool.  they look so pretty under the tree I could squeal. And then there’s the ones from Santa of course.  Yeah.  He goes a little bonkers with his paper choices.  But I am simple, unlike that crazy old jolly bearded guy.

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday and a happy everything!
