“Souls recognize each other by vibes, not by appearances.”

People ask me this question all time, what was my favorite wedding location/venue that I shot this year? I was asked this last week in a consult, and then again over the weekend at a holiday party. The answer comes easy to me, and it’s not hard to answer. My answer was the same on both occasions … for me it wasn’t the location that made it one of my most memorable, but it was the people. All I need is love to make pretty pictures. All the rest is icing on the cake, as they say. Trust me, I feel so lucky to shoot at some of my favorite weddings near Ann Arbor & in Metro Detroit, but it all comes down to the people that I get to work closely with that leave the most lasting impression.
Jared & Beth had a Weller’s Carriage House wedding and were some of my favorite clients to shoot this season. For so many reasons that really moved me, challenged me and left a lasting impression on my heart. Jared was born blind and he may have been the most nervous groom I’ve shot in awhile. But he was surrounded by some of the most caring & gentle friends who somehow managed to take his edge off as he married Beth. They have this unspoken connection, and you can see it coming from a mile away. It is such a reminder that love comes from a place that lives in your soul, and is not created by appearances or material things.
I was so honored to tell their story, and most of all to be there & watch Jared light up every time Beth was near. And to no surprise, because Beth literally lights up a room with her contagious laugh and smile. It was so beautiful to watch these two along with their friends & family celebrate this next chapter for them as a couple.
I honestly have the best job in the world.
