As I get ready to send off my last wedding gallery of 2011, I sit here at my desk completely humbled. Humbled by the fact that I am even a wedding photographer. I love my job so much and the journey to get here has been nothing short of amazing. I often think that just 5 short years ago I was working my way up the “corporate ladder”, worried that at any moment I’d be laid off or that I wouldn’t be able to support my growing family. It was always the people that kept me working there, yet I found myself creatively unfulfilled. It’s been almost two solid years that I traded in my scrubs, company car, stock options, lavish trips and picked up right where I left off … shooting and doing what I love. As scary and as monumental as that decision was for myself, my family and our future I wouldn’t trade it for the world. And we’ve come to realize that our life is richer in other ways.
All of my wedding clients are incredible. They come to me with a sense of trust and vision for the biggest day of their lives. Since I am 100% referral based, they come from all over the globe as well. Australia, Germany, California to name a few. They come from weddings that I’ve shot, weddings that they’ve been in that I’ve shot, wedding planners and videographers that I’ve worked with. Some are photographers in their own right, some are accountants, nurses, teachers, lawyers, students, etc. Either way, after their wedding is over , all of the guests have gone home, and they’ve started their own journey together – I am so proud to call them friends.
Here’s a look at 2011 weddings and only a glimpse of just how beautiful my clients really are.
