Ranch Engagement
Last month, I hopped in my car and headed down to Monroe, Michigan for a ranch engagement with Angela & Jon. A “ranch” engagement shoot you say? What is that? Well, after this post I think it will be clear.
Angela & Jon were referred to me through a dear friend, and Jillian’s 2nd grade teacher Ms. Natalie. We’ve known Ms. Natalie of many years as she has had such an impact on our lives, not only as one of the most amazing Montessori teachers on the planet, but also some who lifted us up & supported us during some of our toughest days after my husband passed away. Jillian joined her class last year on a field trip to St. Isidore Ranch, where she boards her horses. We met some of the sweetest farm animals that day, and reconnected with some of her old classmates. Fast forward one year, Ms. Natalie refers me to Angela who’s family owns this beautiful ranch in Monroe.
These two are getting married next year at the always fabulous Cornman Farms, here in Dexter. I knew the minute I spoke to Angela over the phone that she had chosen the perfect venue for her wedding day, with it’s laid back vibe and sprawling farm. But little did I know until after I shot their ranch engagement session that it truly was a perfect match.
A big thank you to Ms. Natalie, and everyone who helped make this shoot happen and welcomed me with open arms. And of course an even bigger thank you to some of my new friends … the sweet animals: Duncan, Alex, Binx, Boomer and even the curious Alpacas. What a beautiful shoot we all had together, and I can’t wait for their big day at Cornman Farms. Here’s a peek at Angela & Jon’s ranch engagement shoot.
