Typically, when my clients mention Cranbrook my flags go up and I have to make a quick decision to either morph into ninja status or jump through the million hoops to actually get permission to shoot there. Unless … your client is a former student, and her mom is on faculty. Whew. Cranbrook always makes such a beautiful backdrop for any shoot. With it’s sprawling lawns, fountains & architecture it never ceases to amaze me. Enter Amelia & Jeff, who are now Chicago natives but wanted to come back “home” for their wedding next year at The Detroit Yacht Club & for their engagement pictures. These two are … dare I say it … freaking adorable together! Our time together was so chill & laid back, yet filled with stories of how they met, how he proposed to her over laundry and laughter in between. There’s something about them together that I could instantly sense how much they put each other at ease. I love it when I can watch the nervousness fall away as soon as they look eachtother and love it even more when my clients are free to be themselves, a little goofy a little serious all in front of the camera.
