Some weddings are like out of another land.  Literally.  Like Jonny & Laura’s English Inn wedding, that was just an hour or so outside of Ann Arbor.  We arrived at this magical little place and knew instantly it was a perfect fit for these two. Let me first say that I was truly honored when Laura’s sister, Kate chose me to shoot her sister’s wedding as Kate is also an incredibly talented photographer in our industry. And because there really is no higher compliment than sending your own sister to me.  Thank you, Kate.  I’m forever grateful that you brought these two loving hearts into my life.  I knew they were magical, devoted to one another and loved them from our first few moments together for their Detroit Engagement Shoot. What a blessing to be the one to tell their story.

Ok, I know you didn’t come here to hear me ramble on, so let’s just cut to the chase because I know you only love me for my photos (wink, wink.) Their day was incredible.  We had perfect September weather, blue skies and thoughtful details with design & floral from none other than one of my favorites Parsonage Events. I always know that when they take the wheel for any wedding, it’s going to be amazing.  And it was. Tones of peach, a hint of lavender and the way they dressed up the pergola and reception was icing on the cake for an already amazing day.

My favorite moment: When Jonny saw his mother for the first time on his wedding day.  You see, she did not receive her Visa to travel here to the United States from Ireland until a mere 24 hours before the wedding.  Yes, you read that right.  And can you believe this beautiful lady had just hopped off a plane that landed in Lansing an hour before the ceremony looking like royalty. Sweet & tender moments were shared between her, Jonny & Laura as well as meeting some of Laura’s family for the first time. Truly, some of my favorite moments of the day along with watching Laura’s father escort her down the aisle as well as dance with her during their reception.  Which by, the way was a pile of fun with hours of Irish dancing and a nightcap of sparklers and well wishes.

What an incredible day, here’s a peek at Jonny & Laura’s English Inn Wedding.
